Description
This private Kakheti wine tour from Tbilisi is a full day in Georgia's most famous wine region — the hilltop town of Signagi, Bodbe Monastery and a family winery where you taste traditional qvevri wines with a sommelier, plus fresh Georgian bread and cheese along the way. Your own vehicle, your own driver-guide, no shared buses.
Your Route: Signagi, Bodbe & a Family Winery
Your Kakheti wine tour begins with a scenic drive east from Tbilisi through the rolling countryside of Kakheti, with stops for photos whenever you like. The first highlight is Signagi, known as Georgia's "City of Love" — a charming hilltop town of cobblestone streets, restored balconies and old defensive walls, with sweeping views over the Alazani Valley and the Greater Caucasus on clear days.
Just below the town lies Bodbe Monastery, one of the most important spiritual sites in Georgia and the resting place of Saint Nino, who brought Christianity to the country. Its peaceful gardens look out over the same valley that has produced wine for thousands of years.
The heart of the day is a visit to a local family winery, where a sommelier guides you through a tasting of 6–9 Georgian wines, including amber and red wines made in the traditional qvevri way. Along the route, you'll also stop at a local bakery for hot Georgian bread and cheese, baked in a traditional clay oven.
8,000 Years of Wine: Why Kakheti Is Special
Georgia is often called the cradle of wine, with archaeological evidence of winemaking going back around 8,000 years. In Kakheti, many families still make wine in qvevri — large clay vessels buried underground, where grapes ferment with their skins. This method is recognised by UNESCO as part of the world's intangible cultural heritage, and tasting qvevri wine where it is made is something you simply cannot experience anywhere else. Our guide to a private Kakheti wine tour explains the grapes, styles and traditions in more detail.
Kakheti Wine Tour Price per Person
The price is fixed per group, not per person: $220 for 1 to 4 people, including the private vehicle, driver-guide and the wine and bread tastings. The more of you travel together, the less each person pays:
| Group size | Total price | Per person |
|---|---|---|
| 2 people | $220 | $110 |

| 4 people | $220 | $55 |

Not Drinking Alcohol? This Tour Still Works
Many of our guests from the Gulf and India don't drink alcohol, and that's no problem. Non-alcoholic tastings can be arranged, and the day still includes Signagi, Bodbe Monastery, the valley views and the bakery stop — just tell us in advance so we can plan it around you.
What to Bring
Comfortable shoes for Signagi's cobblestone streets, sunglasses and a light layer for the evening. Some cash in Georgian lari is useful if you'd like to buy wine, churchkhela or souvenirs directly from local producers — see our Money in Georgia guide.

I just wanna commend the awesome services that this travel tour company did to An Amazing and Unforgettable 40th Birthday Experience in Georgia! 🇬🇪❤️ I had planned to celebrate my birthday in Georgia after discovering your page on Instagram, but I never expected that, in less than 24 hours, you would be able to arrange such a wonderful trip for me! From start to finish, everything was smooth, enjoyable, and truly special. You made me feel just how memorable my birthday could be. From picking me up at the airport, taking me to different tourist attractions around Georgia, and fulfilling my ultimate birthday wish of experiencing paragliding (which was absolutely amazing!), to ensuring that I arrived safely at my hotel, every moment was incredible. I will never forget how you treated and looked after me throughout the entire tour. You made sure that I was comfortable, safe, and well taken care of at every step of the journey. Even during my hotel stay, you went the extra mile to ensure that everything was taken care of. I was also pleasantly surprised by your birthday gift waiting for me when I arrived at the hotel! I never expected such a thoughtful gesture, and it made my special day even more memorable. Thank you for making me feel so loved and special on my birthday. ❤️🎂 I am truly grateful that I chose your company. If I ever travel to Georgia again, I would definitely choose you once more! You made me feel at home, even when I was far away from my own home, and that is something I will always cherish. Once again, my heartfelt thanks to each and every person who became part of my Georgia adventure on 14 October 2026. Our family trip to Georgia was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better travel company to organize it. Everything was planned so smoothly from the moment we arrived until the day we left, making the entire trip easy, relaxing, and enjoyable for all of us. What really stood out was their exceptional service. They were available for us literally 24/7. No matter what we needed or what questions we had, they responded quickly and were always happy to help. It gave us so much peace of mind, especially while traveling with young children. A very special thank you to our driver, Rezo. Although he doesn’t speak English, language was never a barrier. His kindness, warm smile, and thoughtful gestures spoke louder than words. He was incredibly patient with our family, especially with our 10 month old son, always making sure we were comfortable. He was punctual every single day, and even on the few occasions when we kept him waiting for almost 30 minutes, he greeted us with the same smile and understanding. His professionalism, patience, and genuine care made every journey enjoyable. For our cultural sightseeing days, we were accompanied by our tour guide, Eka, and she was simply outstanding. She speaks excellent English and has an impressive knowledge of Georgia’s history, culture, traditions, and local life. Every place we visited became so much more meaningful because of her stories and explanations. Beyond her knowledge, Eka has such a warm and caring personality that we genuinely felt like she was part of our family rather than just our tour guide. She was wonderful with our children, always patient, engaging, and making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Her passion for her country is truly inspiring, and she made us fall even more in love with Georgia. Thank you to the entire team for creating such unforgettable memories for our family. Your professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality exceeded all of our expectations. We highly recommend your services to anyone planning a trip to Georgia, and we will definitely be booking with you again on our next visit. Started recommending them to my family and friends already!Posted on Google![]()

We had an amazing experience. The coordinator was very kind and responsive, and helped us arrange the schedule smoothly according to the places we wanted to visit. Communication was easy and comfortable from the beginning, and every question was answered quickly. Our driver was also excellent. He drove very smoothly and safely, and the music he chose during the drive made the trip even more enjoyable. We also really appreciated that he recommended several places during the tour. Some of the spontaneous stops were not in our original plan, but they turned out to be some of the best parts of the day. Everything felt flexible, comfortable, and well organized. Thanks to the great communication, safe driving, and thoughtful local recommendations, we were able to enjoy the trip much more than expected. I would definitely recommend this service!Posted on Google![]()
